Xtreme BOTS battle on Saturday!

By Steve Staub (Staub Manufacturing Solutions)

We would like to invite you to attend the most exciting hands-on STEM program in the entire region!

Tomorrow morning over 45 teams will begin a day-long battle to see whose robots reign supreme! Robots will have everything from saw blades to hammers to ramps trying to flip over and demolish their competitors! This is a really exciting event to watch!

This fun program also teaches valuable skills to the student participants:

“The Xtreme BOTS program is second to none-it is the gold standard for project based technical education. As a twenty year teacher it is thrilling to see my students become highly engaged in a rigorous manufacturing experience with industry mentor-ship. I count myself fortunate to be teaching in Dayton, Ohio where the Xtreme BOTS program is making a difference in the lives of students and teachers.” – David Andrews (Engineering Technology Teacher, Ponitz Career Technology Center)

Since the program was launched in 2006, nearly 500 teams and over 2,000 students have participated in the BOTS program. As the successful program continued to grow this year, industry leaders formed Ohio Robotics Inc. to take over management of the program from the DRMA. For more details see this article.

The event is this Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Miami Valley Career Technology Center, 6800 Hoke Rd, Clayton, OH 45315. Hope that you can make it!
